Independence & Disclosures

A documented statement of how we operate, what we do not do, and the limits of the services we provide.

Scope of services

Techné AI provides AI compliance advisory services. We:

  • Conduct AI risk and compliance reviews against published regulatory frameworks and standards
  • Develop AI governance documentation, including policies, procedures, AI inventories, risk registers, and committee reporting frameworks
  • Advise on AI vendor due diligence, contract provisions, and oversight architecture
  • Deliver board and committee briefings on the AI regulatory landscape

We do not:

  • Provide legal advice. Engagements are advisory in nature; clients should consult licensed counsel for legal interpretation, opinion work, or representation in litigation, regulatory inquiry, or transactional matters.
  • Issue formal third-party assurance reports under AICPA Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) or under ISO/IEC 17021-1. That work is reserved for licensed CPA firms and ANAB-accredited certification bodies. When formal attestation is required, we coordinate referrals to credentialed providers.
  • Sell software, technology integration, or AI implementation services.
  • Sell or accept commissions on insurance products. We participate in disclosed referral arrangements with broker partners for client introductions, but we receive no commission on insurance placement.

Independence policy

Techné AI maintains the following independence practices:

  • We do not perform a compliance review on an organization where we have performed a governance implementation engagement within the prior 24 months. This separation preserves the integrity of our review work for audit committees, general counsel, and insurance underwriters.
  • We perform a written conflict check before every new engagement, screening for prior work, related-party engagements, and potential adversity.
  • We disclose any referral arrangements to clients in writing as part of the engagement letter.
  • We do not accept gifts, hospitality, or other benefits from technology vendors or insurance carriers in connection with client work.
