Terms of use.

By accessing or using techne.ai or any associated service (the contact form, the TalentSight Community, the firm's newsletter), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the services. These terms are a binding agreement between you and Techné AI ("we," "the firm").

Techné AI is an independent advisory practice on AI governance, regulatory compliance, and D&O liability. The firm is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The firm is not an audit firm, does not perform audits or assurance engagements within the meaning of the AICPA Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements, and does not issue assurance reports or certifications. For matters that require licensed counsel, accredited certification, or formal third- party attestation, the firm refers to qualified outside providers.

An advisory engagement with the firm begins only with a written engagement letter signed by both parties. Use of the site, the contact form, the community, or the firm's published materials does not by itself create an engagement.

The site is published for informational purposes for business professionals. You may read, quote (with attribution), share links to, and print pages from techne.ai for your own internal, non-commercial use. You may not scrape the site, mirror it, repackage it for resale, train machine-learning models on its contents without the firm's written permission, or use the site to defame, harass, or harm others. You may not interfere with the site's operation, attempt to access non-public areas, or circumvent any technical measure the firm uses to protect the site.

You agree not to misrepresent your identity when using the contact form, enrolling in the community, or corresponding with the firm. The firm may refuse service, suspend access, or terminate enrollment if you breach these terms or if the firm reasonably determines, in its sole discretion, that doing so is in the firm's or other members' interest.

The firm's published materials — the AI Governance & D&O Liability briefing, the AI Hiring Vendor Questionnaire, the HR Readiness Checklist, the Agency Liability briefing, the Illinois AI Compliance Guide, the IDHR Rulemaking Tracker, and the firm's insights and reference articles — are published for informational purposes only. They are not legal advice. They are not a substitute for the advice of counsel licensed in your jurisdiction. Regulatory frameworks change; the materials are current as of their dated publication and the firm does not undertake to update every piece on every regulatory change.

You may quote and cite the firm's published materials with attribution to Techné AI. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the materials for commercial purposes, resell them, or remove attribution without the firm's written permission.

The TalentSight Community is a paid annual membership. Enrollment is via the community page and payment is processed by Stripe. By enrolling, you agree to these terms, to Stripe's terms for the payment, and to Circle's terms for the community space.

Seats. The 1-seat tier covers one named individual; the 3-seat tier covers three named individuals. Seats are non-transferable in mid-cycle substitutions outside good-faith replacement (for example, a named seat-holder leaves the organization). The firm approves each enrollment manually and may decline enrollment from HR technology vendors, recruiting firms selling AI screening services to employers, consulting firms competing with Techné AI, or any other organization the firm reasonably determines is not a fit.

Renewal. Membership is an annual term. After twelve months, members may renew at the prevailing tier rate. Membership does not auto-renew without your action.

Cancellation and refunds. Within the first thirty days of enrollment, refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. After thirty days the membership is non-refundable for the remainder of the annual term, given the immediate-access nature of the materials. You may cancel at any time by emailing [email protected]; cancellation ends access at the end of the paid term, with no further charges.

Member conduct. The community is a members-only space for working professionals. By participating, you agree to keep member exchanges confidential, to respect the privacy of other members, to refrain from selling or marketing to other members, and to follow the community guidelines posted in the community space. The firm may suspend or terminate membership for breach of these obligations, with no refund of the unused portion of the term.

The community is not legal advice. Materials, peer exchange, and firm-hosted briefings in the community are not legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship. Consult qualified outside counsel for specific compliance questions.

All content on techne.ai and in the TalentSight Community — including text, graphics, layout, templates, frameworks, and the Techné AI and TalentSight names and marks — is the property of Techné AI or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

What you may do. Members may use the templates, checklists, and frameworks internally within their own organization to support compliance work. Members may quote and cite the firm's published materials with attribution.

What you may not do. You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, or repackage the firm's materials for use outside your own organization without the firm's written permission. You may not remove or alter copyright or attribution notices. You may not use the Techné AI or TalentSight names or marks in a way that implies endorsement, partnership, or affiliation that does not exist.

When you post in the community, submit a contact-form message, or otherwise provide content to the firm, you grant the firm a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content for the purpose of operating the community and the firm's services (for example: a community post may be displayed to other members; a question submitted via contact may be referenced in a follow-up). The firm does not use member-submitted content for marketing attribution without consent.

You represent that the content you submit is yours to share, does not violate any third party's rights, and does not include confidential information of any employer or client unless you are authorized to share it.

The site, the firm's published materials, the community, and the firm's communications are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The firm makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.

Nothing on techne.ai or in the community is legal advice. The firm is not your lawyer. The firm does not audit, certify, or attest to your organization's compliance posture. Regulatory frameworks evolve; specific application to your circumstances requires the judgment of qualified counsel and, where appropriate, accredited certification bodies. The firm refers to those providers when their work is needed.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Techné AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of techne.ai, the firm's published materials, or the TalentSight Community, even if the firm has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

The firm's total liability for any claim arising from or related to the site, the published materials, or the community is limited to the amount you have paid the firm in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater. Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Techné AI and its founder, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site or community, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

The firm may suspend or terminate your access to the site, the community, or any service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these terms or if the firm reasonably determines termination is necessary to protect the firm or other members. The provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) survive.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or your use of the site or the community will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

The firm may update these terms from time to time. When the terms change, the firm updates the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provides notice through the site or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the site or the community after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
